With ADATA’s recent show off of the Project Jellyfish prototype, their CES 2018 booth was also decorated with XPG SX8200 and IM2P33F8 M.2 NVMe 1.3 SSDs. XPG SX8200 is actually the starter pack combined with Silicon Motion SM2262 controller with 3D TLC NAND flash memory.
The storage capacities are:
- 240 GB
- 480 GB
- 960 GB
Speaking of their sequential transfer rates, they have up to:
- 3200 MB/s reads
- 1700 MB/s writes
Also, they have this SLC caching, an LPDC ECC engine, and an internal RAID engine. You can call the ADATA XPG SX8200 as a successor to XPG SX8000. Similarly, the ADATA IM2P33F8 implements Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller.
The ADATA IM2P33F8 rolls out with the storage capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. If you don’t have an idea about the SM2263XT controller, it features four flash channels and is actually DRAM-less. So the achievable sequential speeds are limited to:
- Up to 2400 MB/s reads
- Up to 1700 MB/s writes
