Xperia lovers have to wait a bit long for the roll out of Android Noughat 7.0 update to their smartphones and tablets, as the company has tweeted that the work is still in progress.
The company shared their progress on its tweeter’s account.
The update was to be pushed to Xperia series with Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium as the first to take the update.
The major updates are its multi-windows support, improved battery life, integration of Google Now to Xperia Home launcher and a self-timer button for the front camera.
Similar updates were to be puffed to Xperia Z4 tablet and the Xperia Z3+ smartphone afterwards.
However, taking notice of users’ complaints that batteries of Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+ and the Xperia Z4 drain out with unusual speed, the company halted the initiation of Android Noughat 7.0 to the devices and started to fix the issues. However, they are still combating the issue.
The company’s reports inform that they have been receiving users’ feedback on inconsistencies related to audio playback and read performance of SD card encrypted data after showcasing the Android 7.0, Nougat upgrade.
They have managed to diagnose the issues and are now working on the corrective measures to ensure speedy roll out of the pending update.
The point of concern is that the company has still to speak about the confirm deadline for the initiation of the update, which so far is promised to be done as soon as possible.
But from a user’s perspective, it might be more important for Sony to kill all the reported and unreported issues before they embark on the roll out.
