Xiaomi confirmed and announced its new Vice President on Friday.
Xiaomi has just appointed its new Vice President Manu Kumar Jain. The co-founder of Jabong joined the company in June 2014. Manu Kumar was the former head of the Xiaomi company in India division.
Under Manu Kumar leadership, Xiaomi’s gain a 10.7% market share in India and become the second largest smartphone retailer in the country. As Vice President of Xiaomi Kumar will also be the managing director in India.
The appointment was necessary, as Hugo Barra was hired by the Facebook Inc to lead the new Facebook’s virtual reality division in siliconvalley. Hugo Barra spends 3.5 years with Xiaomi as Vice President.

Under Manu’s leadership our operations in India expanded from just a small team, into India’s second largest smartphone vendor in the country with 10.7 percent market share, and the number one selling smartphone brand online with 29.3 percent market share in Q4CY16, as per IDC!
