Xiaomi finally unveiled its long awaited Mi Mix 2S flagship phone. Which is pretty much the same old device with some tweaks that makes it worth an upgrade over its predecessor.
The Mi Mix 2S from Xiaomi now comes with a four sided ceramic exterior that is held together by series 7000 aluminum. The phone also comes equipped with a 5.99 inch LCD display, supporting a resolution of 1080 x 2160 on an aspect ratio of 18:9. There is also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 running under the hood. That comes coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. While for storage users can go as high as 256GB.
What’s great about the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is its bezel-less display. That just like its predecessor is unique to look at, while offering better color production. Xiaomi also went with a dual camera setup this time around. Where the Mi Mix 2S comes equipped with a pair of 12MP sensors, one wide and one telephoto camera. Aside from that both the sensors also support OIS and with the help of AI tweaking, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S can now also adjust settings based on the lighting.
With the Mix Mix 2S, Xiaomi is also introducing it’s on AI known as Xiao AI. The Xiao AI from Xiaomi will be replacing Google Assistant though the phone does support ARCore technology from Google. Users can get the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in three variants. Which includes the 64GB model with 6GB of RAM for $527. While the 128GB model with 6GB of RAM and the 256GB model with 8GB of RAM, will go for $575 and $639 respectively.
The Mi Mix 2S on launch will only be limited to China and other Asians countries starting 3rd April. Though it would be nice if Xiaomi started selling its devices in US as well.
