The Apple iPhone X is the new flagship smartphone from the company. Though it won’t be available before the launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Which will go on sale on the 23rd of September. While Apple wants its users to called the iPhone X as ‘’iPhone ten’’. Which is what the X means and is there to celebrate 10 years of the iPhone. So where does this leave the iPhone 9, because between the launch of the two new iPhone 8 smartphones and the iPhone X. Apple is now missing on the launch of the iPhone 9.
With the launch of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. It seems Apple is ditching S branding from their iPhone lineup this year. Though that does not entirely surprise us. As both the smartphones will be going against the recently launched Galaxy S8 and Note 8. Where the old iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were not really the best options to compete with against Samsung. While the matching smartphone models from Apple make it a great marketing strategy against Samsung.
The new name branding on the iPhone X does convey the message of it being different. Which certainly is the case as it’s an entirely new design. Plus I won’t be surprised if people started calling it the iPhone X instead of the iPhone ten. But to be honest I don’t think not everyone will be grabbing the iPhone X considering its expensive price tag. Which does make the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus a great option for users who want to upgrade to a better and faster iPhone this year.
So where did the iPhone 9 go? Well for now we are not sure but it’s a rather interesting marketing strategy to get people into upgrade to the new iPhone devices. Whatever the case maybe, the only thing that remains to be answered is the name of the next iPhone.
