When it comes to the most popular smartphones; Samsung Galaxy S5 leads the US Market, even beats the newly launched flagship Smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8Plus. A very recent study by UK’s Kantar World Panel has thrown light over some amusing facts about Samsung’s evolution in the US; being one of the entire world’s biggest market.

Samsung’s expectations with freshly released flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8-Plus may well be high but apparently; these smartphones failed to ‘charm’ the US community. The Americans seem to love Galaxy S5 more, as is evident from the South Korean smartphones’ installed base figures i.e. 15.6% share in February, 2017.

The study further reveals that two other smartphones grabbing second and third spot on the list are Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6; with 11.5% and 11.4% share, respectively. And believe it or not but the installed base Galaxy S8 Edge counted for was mere 5.8% which is surprisingly very low; with the US being world’s leading marketplace for smartphones.

As per the findings of the study, Samsung over the years has managed to develop and retain quite a repute and strong loyal consumer base all over the United States of America. Facts and figures suggest that as much as 28% of US consumers owned one or more Samsung devices last year and at the time of up gradation; they opted for a new Samsung device again.

Let’s wait and see what would be the response of US customers when Galaxy Note 8 is finally out but study findings suggest that only few would wait for the upcoming flagship smartphone.

This would mean Galaxy S5 leads the US market, even after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, that not only resulted in affecting Samsung’s image, it also lead to financial losses. 52% of consumers, out of the 28% preferred Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7-Edge, respectively; another 10% of them opted for the Galaxy S6.

The study reveals that there’s no doubt howsoever that Samsung’s previous flagship Galaxy S5 attracted majority of the customers; looking to upgrade their respective devices; but continue using only Samsung smartphones.
