Like the idea of Microsoft’s Cortana which can also take commands from your keyboard? Or you simply don’t want to disturb anyone by passing out those clear and loud commands to Siri? Well, Siri can also listen to you through your hands i.e. the keyboard commands.

‘Type to Siri’ Feature of iOS 11

%name Dont like the idea of screaming Hey Siri in public? Try Type to Siri feature to command Siri through keyboard
This feature is named Type to Siri and to enable it, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on General
  2. Look for the Accessibility option and tap it
  3. You’ll see the ‘Siri’ option, tap it and toggle the ‘Type to Siri’ switch ON.

Remember, this option will only be visible in iOS 11 so if you are using and older generation iPhone or a new one without the iOS 11, you will not be able to see this option. Now, once you have turned on the switch, simply launch Siri by either pressing and holding the Home button or saying ‘Hey Siri.’ Here you’ll be welcomed by Siri with a keyboard instead of the usual listening interface so you can type anything you want to ask from Siri just the way you asked with your voice.
