Earlier in this year, Twitter shows its concerns to introduce its new smartphone version app expected to be Twitter Lite. The company says the smartphone app Twitter Lite is designed for the users having limited connectivity and less usage of the mobile data. The version will be limited to a specific regions around the globe. The recent news and reports, Twitter Lite is being testing initially from the Philippines.

The officials of the project believes the company is launching for the testing version and currently not sure will it launch to the other markets in the world or not. Currently the company is making experiments with the launch in the Philippine. According to the report, on the expansion of Twitter Lite, CEO Jack Dorsey highlighted its importance for the company in its emerging market and international strategies in a statement as:

“We’ve been working over the past few months on some early foundational work, and Twitter Lite represents one of these,” he said in the company’s quarterly earnings call in July. “One of our goals is to make sure Twitter is accessible to anyone in the world. And Twitter Lite exactly hits on this particular goal. Especially in places like India, we found that our app was just way too slow to access. So we have areas in the world where network infrastructure is more costly, and we could be a lot better in terms of serving those markets and those countries. So it’s way too soon to access the — to assess the usage trends, but our initial results look really positive.”

Moreover, Twitter Lite will much similar with the Twitter app, and also added some of new features like, the testing app is featured with an option to remove the heavy photos and images consuming more data.
