According to a report, Gartner reveals the sales for PCs, even Apple Mac-book is recorded decline in the second half of quarter due to higher prices in the market. PC industry facing decline from a long time ago, back in 2016, the sales for PCs goes decline with the figure of 4.3 percent.
Back from the last few quarters the sales for number of units is seems to be a dream. The PC manufacturers are waiting for the time to raise the sale. The PC industry seems to be going from bad to the worst position.
The lowest shipment of the PC world can be seen in 2007 to 2008 where the financial crisis overcome to the economy. Analyst suggests that the decline in the PC market is due to the higher prices of the major components of the PCs like DRAM, SSDs, and LCD panels and other storage devices.
According to the report, HP is leading with the 20.8 percent market share, Lenovo comes second in position with 19.9 percent of shares, Dell falls on the third position with the 15.6 percent of market share, Apple is the follower with maximum market share of 6.9 percent in the industry.
As compared to the top most PC manufacturers, Acer and ASUS increase their shares in the PC industry. Both of the companies face minimum decline in the sales with 10.3 and 12.5 percent respectively.
The Apple fails to shipment of the version and decline the shipment with 0.4%. Lenovo in back 2016 face decline in 8.4 percent of its PC items. HP growth increase with the 3.3 percent straight from the 2016 to 2017 current quarter.According to the report, Mikako Kitagawa, principal analyst at Gartner, said:
“In the business segment, vendors could not increase the price too quickly, especially in large enterprises where the price is typically locked in based on the contract, which often run through the quarter or even the year. In the consumer market, the price hike has a greater impact as buying habits are more sensitive to price increases. Many consumers are willing to postpone their purchases until the price pressure eases.”
