It is now a very common practice to have 4K panels that are made most likely in orders of magnitudes greater than 1440p panels but what if we have 4K panels inside of our 1440p monitors?
It was first broken by a German website Prad.de that for the manufacturers, it’s actually easy to make a 27-inch 3840 x 2160 panel than it is for a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 panel. So what’s the harm in using 4K panels inside of the new 1440p monitors?
When Does This Happen?
This isn’t an all-season case so the monitor manufacturers normally do this when panel supplies are low, or when monitor demand spikes. So if you are up for buying a 1440p screen having a 4K panel, look out for the seasons when these two factors are increasing!
