Sony today announced two new smartphones. Which alongside the new Sony Xperia XZ1 also includes the XZ1 compact. Where both the smartphones offers a new refreshed design. That is now being powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip. Aside from that both the upcoming Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 compact will be among the first to offer Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.
Both the Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 compact will come equipped with Motion Eye camera. That includes a 19MP sensors with support for predictive capture. A feature that take the picture a few moments before the shutter is pressed. Other features includes a 4k video recording option and a slow motion capture option. That shoots a lower quality 720P video at 960 frames per second. Aside from that users will be getting a 13MP front facing camera on the Xperia XZ1. While the Xperia XZ1 compact comes with a lower 8MP camera instead. Though with the Xperia XZ1 users will also be getting their hands on a 3D scanning mode. That takes a 3D image of an object to be used on a 3D printer later on.
In terms of specs the Xpera XZ1 comes equipped with a 5.2 inch display. That supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with HDR. While the compact variant offers a smaller 4.6 inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. Aside from that both the smartphones are running on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SOC, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Though users who opt for the Xperia XZ1 will be getting 64GB of on board expandable storage. While the compact version only come with 32GB of on board expandable storage. Where everything is being powered by the same 2700mAh battery.
The Xperia XZ1 would be the first smartphone to be made available on 19th of September for $700. While the Xperia XZ1 compact will come later on, on October 4th with a price tag of $600.
