Sony recently introduced three new smartphones at Consumer Electronics Show this month. But it looks like the company was saving its best for Mobile World Congress, to be held next month.
Among the expected Sony devices at MWC this year is the Xperia XZ Pro. Which is the best that Sony have to offer, similar to Note 8 and iPhone X. Being the best the Xperia XZ Pro wouldn’t come cheap and might be the most expensive phone that Sony offers this year.
According to a leaked document, the Xperia XZ Pro is expected to come with a 5.7 inch display. That will operate at 4K resolution on an OLED panel. Using a 4k Panel does seem like an overkill, but Sony is giving off a bold statement by making it mainstream. Sony has also done this before, so who knows we might actually see the first 4k OLED equipped phone.
The Sony Xperia XZ Pro is also rumored to come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. That will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on board. Aside from that the Sony Xperia XZ Pro is said to come with a dual camera setup. That will combine a set of 18MP + 12MP camera with 1.3um and 1.38um pixel size respectively. While at the front a 13MP shooter will be present.
Just like its other flagship phones, the Xperia XZ Pro is will also feature IP68 dust and water resistance. While to power everything the phone is expected to come with a 3420mAh battery inside. That is all the information that we have for now. But it would be nice to see Sony finally switching over to bezel-less phones. As it’s now the only one lacking behind.
What do you think about the implementation of 4K OLED display, will it be an overkill on a phone?
