Snapchat acquires the Zenly, add new feature of “Snap Map” for location sharing

Social media app Snapchat acquires Zenly. The app now adds the feature of “Snap Map” with the startup of Zenly. According to the report, Snapchat acquire the company for between $250 million and $350 million.

The most of the payment was made in cash and by purchasing the major portion of company stock in the last month. The Zenly will work as a separate entity as the other social media giant Facebook owned Instagram.

The Zenly working on the GPS location based maps, the app allows you to see the exact location of your friend connected with you on Zenly. Moreover, the app allows, you can message your friend.

Snapchat’s Snap Map is available for iOS and Android devices. The app latest feature is supported all over the world. The user will see the map on a new screen and shows the location of your friends and also show the location of the other Snapchatters from the all over the world.

According to the report, the company says that the most of users want to see the location, what they are doing and share their information with them. That is the one of the main reasons the company start work for the Snap Map. However, the top news will be posted on the app. Jack Brody, a product designer at Snap says:

“There’s definitely the aspect of where are my friends and what’s happening around them, but then there’s a greater aspect of what’s happening globally. There’s something really powerful about seeing the diversity, but also the similarity of snaps around the world.”

A new type of Bitmoji “Actionmojis”  is added to this Snap Map feature that show the location, time, day, and the speed of arrival of your friends. It will allow you to disable or enable the location sharing feature from your app. When a user turns off the Snap map for location sharing, it will automatically be offline.
