Snap is currently working on creating a camera drone to broaden its range. Its biggest accomplishment is Snapchat which is known for its vanishing messages, pics and videos. Snap has been hard at work by making itself into a camera company and might have more secret plans to achieve that target.
As indicated by a report from the New York Times, Snap is creating a drone and although full details could not be provided we’re not sure if the product will even launch.
Snap Drone Project
A drone could bode well for Snapchat’s venture to become a camera company. It would permit users to capture photos from any angle and distance.
Companies are always looking to create new things and experiment with things but not all those projects end up being released to the public. A lot of them are discarded or made into other projects so if Snap has really been working on drone, it’s not guaranteed that it’ll be released.
The drone project will apparently enhances on the Spectacles, the sunglasses that make short videos. Changing itself from Snapchat to Snap reflects its attempt to branch out than just Snapchat and the drone could vastly support that endeavor.
Why A Camera Drone?
By broadening the pics and videos, it will intensify the interaction that the user’s already have with Snapchat. For the people that use Snapchat know that the visuals are right at the front of the app as soon as it is opened which keeps them addicted.
Snap disclosed that a user of Snapchat launches the app at least 18 times in day on average and pictures and messages are exchanged more than 2.5 billion times every day.
It makes a lot of sense for Snapchat to make a drone because the company wants people to interact through visuals. Whether this camera drone will be released to consumers or not will have to be seen but it’s an interesting expectation.
