Recently I’ve been very active reporting on all kinds of Xbox One X enhancements for the third-party and the first-party games but there wasn’t really much to talk about PlayStation Pro enhancements. We find this piece of information via psu.com. During the E3 presentation one of the Sledgehammer Games members was talking about PlayStation 4 Pro enhancements for the upcoming Call of Duty WW2.
He was actually asked if PlayStation 4 Pro will offer a 4k resolution? He replied that:
“Yeah, I mean, that’s what we’re planning on. But I don’t know how much we’re talking about.”
It seems he’s planning a 4k support but with checkerboard rendering. In terms of final resolution output it’s probably going to be either 2160p checkerboard rendered or either 1800p then upscale to 4k or other resolution they may come up with.
In terms of game engine, the game hasn’t really looked to be much more advance in terms of graphical fidelity from what Infinite Warfare was offering.
Just a reminder Call of Duty Infinite Warfare was running at 1800p checkerboard rendered and it was dynamic 4k resolution. Although they were asked what would PlayStation 4 Pro version at least offer? and they said it would at least offer players a bigger experience.
But that doesn’t tell us nothing, that could mean a better gaming performance and it is difficult to say anything at this time because he didn’t give too much detail about the game in terms of enhancements that will bring to PlayStation 4 Pro only.
