Recently, Microsoft has launched an app called Skype Lite which is mobile-friendly and used for the Skype. This app is specially designed for the Indian market. Microsoft describes this android app. Skype Lite will use little battery power and can be smoothly run especially on old Android phones. Also, less data will be use in video calls. Mentioned app can do SMS too in nine languages.

This is an Android app that provides you service for video and voice calling functionalities. It is optimized for specifically those who have 2G data internet. Only launched In India. Supported eight languages for reading and replying to SMS are the local languages used in India. Space required for this app in your mobile is 13mb only.

The app can help automates tasks and get content, like news. All type of photos, videos, and other files will be compressed before sending to save data usage. Microsoft said it is also planning to integrate Aadhaar. Which is India’s national digital identity scheme and will enable certain services from June. This will identify unknown callers in various situations where identification verification is needed.

If you want to use the app, you can download Skype Lite by the APK file. But remember it is compatible with Android 4.0.3 and above versions.

Availability In Other Regions

However, Skype Lite right now is only available in India but there’s is the possibility that it would come to users in other developing regions too. This is an assumption, there is no true news in it.

Skype Lite is also available in Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu,” the software giant said this without giving any clue on a possible launch of Skype in other markets.
