Though the market is currently filled with smartphones equipped with thin bezels. Sharp was the first to introduce this incredible concept with their Aquos S Android smartphone. Well the company have now announced a new variant known as the Sharp Aquos S2. Which bring a very familiar design to what we have already seen on the upcoming Essential smartphone.
The Sharp Aquos S2 comes equipped with a 5.5 inch display. That supports a resolution of 1440 x 2560. Whilee the smartphone barely have any bezels at the top of the phone. Where except for the front camera cutout, everything else around is pure display. There is a big chin at the bottom of the smartphone though. Which is equipped with a home button and a finger print scanner. Aside from that the display on the Sharp Aquos S2 is also not rounded on the corners of the display. As the display comes with this unique cut at the top corners.
In terms of specs the Sharp Aquos S2 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SOC. That is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on board storage. There is also a higher end model as well, that comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 instead. Which also comes coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of on board storage. Where to power it all a 3020mAh battery is present. Like any other smartphone these days the Sharp Aquos S2 also comes with a dual camera setup. That supports a pair of dual 12MP cameras on the back. While at the front of the phone an 8MP sensor is present.
The Sharp Aquos S2 like its predecessor is only available in the Chinese market for now. Where the starting price of the Sharp Aqous S2 starts atv$373. Which would offer a great alternative for users who can’t afford the flagship Essential smartphone.
