Samsung vice president Lee Jae-Yong is accused of corruption during his effective leadership in the company. And this is why the South Korean District Court issued an arrest warrant last week.

Jae-Yong was interrogated on last Friday for 24 hours in Seoul, South Korea as part of investigations of a scandal that led to the impeachment of the president Park Geun-Hye. The arrest warrant was issued after following investigations and interrogations by the country’s police.

lee Jae-Yong, 48, is the son of the chairman of the largest conglomerate in South Korea. Lee is accused of providing $38 million to South Korea’s president associate, to ensure the merger of two Samsung subsidiaries and secure his control over the conglomerate.

 The decision of the arrest warrant could inference significant financial changes as Samsung tech giant value remarkable weight in the country. The company holds a one-third value of the stock exchange in Seoul which worth fifth of the GDP.

However, it’s worth noticing that Samsung is not the only primary company that is involved in the investigation, Hyundai and LG and Hyundai are also accused in this matter.
According to Bloomberg, ‘The trial, could take up to 18 months to reach a verdict, during which time Lee’s attributions will be taken over by Samsung Electronics president Park Sang-Jin’.
