The first Samsung Tizen smartphone is finally here. As the company just announced their upcoming Samsung Z4 smartphone today. Which will be running the long awaited Tizen OS, designed by Samsung. Though not in a smartphone yet, the Tizen OS has been running on every other device from Samsung. Which till now was only limited till Samsung TV’s and Smartwatches.
Samsung Z4 is not a high end smartphone and we don’t expect it to be one as well. Because it’s a new OS and launching something like that on an expensive smartphone. Would not be the right way to go. In terms of specs the Samsung Z4 comes equipped with a 4.5 inch display. That supports a very low resolution of 480 x 800. Aside from that the Samsung Z4 smartphone is also running a quad core chip, coupled with 1GB of RAM.
There is also a 5MP camera on the back of the smartphone. Where all of this is powered by a 2050mAh battery. While the smartphone also has support for LTE Cat 4. In terms of design the upcoming Samsung Z4 resembles their previous Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone a lot. Being a Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z4 will be running Tizen OS 3.0. While the OS also offers simplistic design, with usability in mind.
Samsung Tizen OS 3.0 is similar in a lot ways to what Android has to offer. So developers and users who are new to the OS won’t feel lost. Aside from that the OS also have support for creating app shortcut and swipe gestures. Being a budget smartphone Samsung is planning to launch their upcoming Z4 smartphone in India first. Where the smartphone will be available in gold, silver and black color.
If you want to look at what the new Tizen OS 3.0 would look like. Then Samsung will be showing everything about it in their Developers Conference next week.
