Samsung has already announced that they are working to bring the update for S6 series and other latest flagship devices by Samsung after they released it in the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge last month.

Moreover, the news is circulating that Android 7.0 Nougat-powered Galaxy S6 Edge is getting certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance. As S6 got this update, a couple of days ago so it was expected that S6 edge+ is also in the pipeline for the due update. Samsung Turkey announced the update will be coming to the S6 edge+ users in the second week of March this year. If Samsung Turkey’s claims and dates are confirmed then it can be said that Nougat update will be hitting the other markets of the world simultaneously.

S6 and S6 Edge are Capable for The Update

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge should not be underestimated in this case as Samsung proudly announced them as their Flagship models in the year 2015. With that being said, it is confirmed that still a great number of people are using these devices as their primary smartphone and demand the up gradation of the Android version in these phones.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge originally came out with the following specs:

  • A powerful RAM of 3 GB
  • Three variants according to their storage i.e. 32GB, 64GB, 128GB
  • Android 5.0.2 which was later updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow last year.
  • The processor in these phones was Exonys 7420 64-bit octa-core which provided it the power to run those heavy applications all the time.
  • The sleek design of both the phones with a flat screen in Galaxy S6 and a curved edge in the Galaxy S6 Edge.
