Currently the Snapdragon 835 is the best that Qualcomm have to offer. Which saw the light of day last year with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. While if Qualcomm follows its usual launch cycle, there should be an updated version of the Snapdragon 835 this year no? Well according to some reliable sources, there won’t be an improved Snapdragon chip this fall. Which till now was rumored to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836. That was said to arrive on two new smartphones. Including the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Xiaomi Mi Max 2. This means that they both will be running on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip. That is being used on every other flagship device this year.

Even though a new Qualcomm chip is not a thing anymore. There were many reason to believe so, which mainly includes the old Snapdragon chips like the 801, 821 and the 626. All of which were an updated versions of its predecessor. Offering slightly better performance and efficiency. Though we also didn’t see any updated version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 as well.

Whether Qualcomm launches the Snapdragon 836 or not. The widely used Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is still the best chip on the market right now. Reason being why most of the flagship smartphones on the market use one. Aside from that do expect the upcoming Xioami Mi Max 2 as well as Google Pixel 2 to be running on the existing Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip for now.
