Qualcomm just unveiled its new Snapdragon 700 series, which will bring premium features to the midrange devices.

The new Snapdragon 700 series were launched at the Mobile World Congress 2018 expo booth. This new offering from Qualcomm will be bringing the premium features of the Snapdragon 800 series. Which includes AI that is 2x faster, than the current Snapdragon 660.

With the new Snapdragon 700 series, users will be getting a lot of premium features on midrange phones as well. That includes the Qualcomm Spectra Camera. Aside from that the platform also supports real time HDR and slow motion video capture. All of this will be combined together on a chip that is 30% more power efficient than the current Snapdragon 660.

The new Snapdragon 700 series will also support Quick Charge 4+. Which can charge the battery up to 50% in just 15 minutes. Lastly the new platform will also bring the latest 5G modem, with Bluetooth 5.0 and the next Wi-Fi standard.

All in all the new Snapdragon 700 series seems like a promising platform. Because the only thing that it will lose out on is performance compared to the 800 series. Though that does not mean the platform won’t perform well. Where we might see it on the next Moto G devices.

Qualcomm is already hard at work and will be shipping the new Snapdragon 700 series to manufacturers in the first half.  So do expect to see a lot of powerful mid-range phones during the summer or fall this year.
