A set of benchmark results recently went online showing the performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. The results shown do look promising for the new chip. As with a new Adreno 630 GPU on board, the Snapdragon 845 performs better than all of the competition. Though same cannot be said about the processing, as CPU improvements were only incremental.

The new Adreno 630 GPU on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, is said to be 30 percent better in performance compared to its predecessor. While consuming 30 percent less power draw. According to Anandtech “Qualcomm current generations of SoCs are simply unmatched and the gap is so wide that I do not expect upcoming rival solutions to be able to catch up this year’’.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 did blow away all of its competitors including Samsung and Huawei. But when it came to the A11 Bionic powered iPhone X. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 was around 15 percent slower. Though compared to every other chip on the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will deliver 20 percent better performance.

Performance is not the only new thing about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. As the chip also features the new X20 modem. Which can manage download speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps. Aside from that the chip also features faster quick charge, fingerprint sensor and 802.11ad WiFi.

That is all we known regarding the flagship chip from Qualcomm. The upcoming flagship phone from Samsung, the Galaxy S9 will be the first phone to feature this new chip. Which will see the light of day on 25th February on Mobile World Congress. Other phone manufacturers would also join in later on including Motorola, Nokia, LG, Google etc.
