Since its first launch Qualcomm have been doing very good in the high end market. Where Qualcomm made chips are found on every other flagship Android smartphone. Qualcomm also recently launched its flagship Snapdragon 845 chip. Which will be there on most of the flagship smartphones to launch in 2018.
Even though the company does offer a high end chip, still not everyone is looking into buying the best. Reason why Qualcomm offers its mid-tier offering known as the Snapdragon 660. But according to recent leaks Qualcomm have two new mid-tier offerings for next year. Which includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and 640.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 will be made on a new 10nm manufacturing process. That will be an improvement over the 14nm manufacturing process of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. Aside from that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 is also an octa core chip. Which consists of four Kryo 360 cores clocked at 2 GHz. While the other four cores are of Kryo 385 clocked in at 1.6 GHz, coupled with Adreno 620 GPU.
Devices that are equipped with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 will also have support for a single 26 MP or dual 13 + 13 MP main cameras. Though the modem on the chip is a set down from what Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 comes with. As the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 supports LTE Cat16 with a maximum download speed of 1 Gbps.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 640 on the other hand shows a unique combination of cores. Where the chips comes equipped with six Kyro 360 silver cores an two Kyro 360 gold cores clocked in at 1.55 GHz and 2.15 GHz respectively. Aside from that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 640 also comes coupled with Adreno 610 GPU and XZ12 LTE modem from Qualcomm. That can achieve a maximum download speed of 600 Mbps.
These new upcoming chips from Qualcomm are sure to offer a smooth and fast performance. That would go great with phones running stock Android on it.
