Project CARS 2 will not hit Native 4k or locked at 60 FPS on Xbox One X including other consoles

Just yesterday we posted an article about Project Cars 2 and also Slightly Mad Studios comments on the resolution and framerate on the Xbox One X for this game. One of the developer said it self yesterday that:

Yes, Project CARS 2 will run 4K/60 natively on Xbox One X. […] We are not ready to define the exact resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro yet.

This is what we reported on yesterday but, now it looks like that isn’t going to happen. Couple of hours later Wccftech wrote an article saying, that developers has actually backtracked on the comment and they said this:

Yup, this was a misquote. We’re running sub 60 FPS at 4K and we’ll probably always be unless we drop livetrack and a host of other things… We’ll probably upscale from something very reasonable.

Then he also said about the locked 60 frames per second that:

We don’t like the term ‘locked’. It would put us in first party territory where chest beating is more important than a great experience. We’ll be 60 most of the time in normal racing and we’ll push the consoles to and beyond their limits for more interesting racing. Even if that means dropping a few frames.

It looks rather interesting and confusing at the same time because at one particular moment they are saying 4k 60 FPS but there you go it’s not going to happening. Looks like those enthusiast level players aren’t going to be playing this game on Xbox One X. As usual they will be playing Project Cars 2 on PC.

The game is releasing on September 22 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and the patch for Xbox One X will delivered later on. They still got time to optimize this game for the Xbox One X as well. We’ll see how that goes.
