Samsung Pay now seems to be becoming more practical and worth giving a try as the latest news confirms that PayPal support has been added to it. Previously, you could have used Android Pay in your Samsung Pay but now, the synergy between PayPal and Samsung has given us another reason to love Samsung Pay. Like any other bank, you can use Samsung Pay for buying stuff after your Samsung Pay account has been integrated with the PayPal.
That’s not all, you can get gift cards and reward points by using Samsung Pay regardless of what payment method you use. Initially, the service is for US customers but the company aims to expand the PayPal wallet support to the other countries like South Korea, Spain, China, and India.
Samsung Pay Can Be The Future of Online Payments
Samsung wants to extend the services beyond physical payment dealings and the next target of the company is to capture the online payment market. PayPal’s COO Bill Ready says:
PayPal and Samsung have had a strong partnership for several years now. In 2014, we worked with Samsung to enable mobile payments with just a fingerprint. The following year, PayPal was added as a payment method within Samsung Smart TVs. This next phase of our relationship combines our reach and leadership in technology and mobile commerce, bringing more choices and functionality to our mutual customers.
Also, using Samsung Pay for online payments can be a safer option because it is backed by ‘Samsung Knox security’ which is a pretty credible name. Although Android Pay supported PayPal way before it came to Samsung Pay, devices other than Samsung don’t have the MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) hardware which is necessary for using the payment method in stores and marts.
