Microsoft was really focusing hard on making Xbox One X very easy to develop for, they were focusing quite a bit on making their platform easy to use for developers, easy to create new games and also easy to port games from one platform to other especially from Xbox One to Xbox One X.
The thing is that even though Xbox One X is backwards compatible in terms of like CPU, GPU but still the architecture is just a little bit different. So, you need to tune some game code a little bit to make it work and apparently one of the developers who are responsible for the Parts of Exile which is an Xbox One game right now, it’s a classic RPG kind of game.
According to them they made their game to run on Xbox One only two hours, two hours after receiving the Dev Kit, which is pretty impressive if you think about it. Porting or making the game to run in 4k on PS4 Pro probably takes like couple of weeks and here we are now that the developers confirmed that they made this work in 4k 60FPS only in two hours which is super impressive work.
Who cares about it…!!
Well it’s very important because Microsoft is doing something that Sony did a number of years ago when they were releasing PS4, they talked with developers what sort of improvements they would like to see and they listened and they actually did it.
On the other hand Xbox One X is super developer friendly, it’s easy to develop, it’s not taking too long to port the games from one platform to the other platform. It doesn’t cost too much money, it doesn’t require too much manpower and time. Which means some developers will go and port some games from one platform to the other for Xbox One X without any issues.
It’s beneficial for developers and at the same time it’s also benefits us because that means more better looking games.
