Google Assistant is making life easy day by day. Its gradual approach in adding features to the app is getting attractive to everyone.
In the recent update, Google Assistant would soon be enabling its users to do online payments through voice commands.
It was long awaited as Google had already unveiled the feature of integrating Assistant with payment services in a demonstration during the Google I/O 2016 back in October. Now a time has come when the company has formally initiated this integration.
According to XDA, the teardown of Google App APK version 6.11.13 beta indicates an imminent inclusion of payment features on Google Assistant. Currently, no such functionality is available to users, except Google Home.
However, the recently found strings refer to an addition in this facility which would allow the user to pay through this service.
The string [you’ll soon be able to pay for things] clearly shows its current absence. Interestingly, with this update, you can specify the devices that could be used for making payments.
It is also expected that it will work like Amazon’s Alexa that functions even on voice command. However, for making payments, one needs to specify the delivery address of the items. Another finding in the teardown reveals that the company seems to have included this function in the APK file, however, it might be working on it at the backhand.\
It is noticeable from the image that the update will be handling credit card like other services and will be bringing you Google support if needed.
It is guessed that this payment feature would be mostly aimed at facilitating online shopping and delivery services, as Google Home is already supporting cab services like Uber.
Although the strings have opened a new channel of discussions on Google Assistant, we are still waiting for an official word.
