OnePlus 5T was just released last month, with the rumors regarding the next OnePlus smartphone already surfacing the internet. According to a Chinese report the next OnePlus smartphone will be launched in March next year. That will come with a bunch of new features including an in display finger scanner. Something that we only heard Samsung work on till now.
Samsung still doesn’t seem to be in luck when it comes to perfecting this new technology. Because the recent renders of the Samsung Galaxy S9 show a rear finger print sensor. But Synaptics, who recently demoed their in display finger print scanner is ready to move to the assembly line. Which does give us hope that the OnePlus 6 next year might feature an in display finger print scanner.
March is not that far ahead, meaning that the upcoming OnePlus 6 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor inside. Aside from that the smartphone is also expected to carry the same 6 inch display just like on the OnePlus 5T. Though it would be nice if OnePlus decided to go with a higher resolution display this time around. Something that is higher than 1080 x 2160 resolution.
The upcoming OnePlus 6 would just be an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 5T. Which would only offer a better processor and a new finger print scanner. A move that Samsung will also be pulling with its upcoming Galaxy S9 phone. Which is rumored to come equipped with a re-positioned finger print scanner and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
Whether OnePlus goes for the in display finger print scanner or not. It’s still a fairly new and untested security feature. But if OnePlus is serious about it, then it should wait till it’s in perfect working condition.
What do you think about the implementation of an integrated fingerprint scanner?
