OnePlus recently released their updated 5T smartphone. Which offers a lot of improvements from its similar predecessor the OnePlus 5. Including a new 18:9 aspect ratio and a new face unlock feature. That was only limited to OnePlus 5T. But it looks like OnePlus will soon be introducing the face unlocking feature from its OnePlus 5T smartphone to another of its variant.

According to OnePlus ”by popular demand, Face Unlock is coming to the OnePlus 5’’. For now there is no time line when OnePlus plans to bring their face unlocking feature to the OnePlus 5. But it should be here soon. Aside from that OnePlus also just received the new Oxeygen OS 5.0 software update that is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Though this new update does not seem to have any mentioning of the face unlocking feature in its changelog.

In terms of specs the OnePlus 5 is equipped with a 5.5 inch display. That supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080. There is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 running under the hood. With either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Aside from that users can also get up to 128GB of non-expandable storage. Though the 6GB RAM variant is only available with 64GB of storage. While the 8GB RAM variant comes equipped with 128GB of storage.

The OnePlus 5 is also the first smartphone from the company, to sport a dual camera setup. Which combines together a 16+20 MP sensor. Allowing users to take the best pictures in any lightning condition. Aside from that the camera on the OnePlus 5 also sports 2X optical zoom, ensuring your pictures don’t lose quality even while zoomed in. While at the front of the smartphone a 16 MP selfie shooter is present. Where everything is powered by a 3300mAh battery inside.
