It was interesting to see both Intel and AMD joining hands together in a form of a new solution. That combines both an Intel CPU and AMD GPU on a single die. Making it a great option for thin and light notebooks that would not only perform well in processing but gaming as well.

It looks like Nvidia also have plans of its own to counter what Intel and AMD are doing. As specifications of the upcoming Nvidia GTX 1050 Max Q cards got leaked. Leaked specifications of both the Nvidia GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti Max Q cards were spotted by NotebookCheck. That were found on the latest Nvidia driver release for Linux platform. Whether Nvidia wants to go against the new Kaby Lake G chip or not. Intel do have something interesting to offer that might have certain advantages to it due to being close in proximity on a single die with HBM2 memory. But Nvidia have always been good with their cards, so we might see a scenario where one performs better in some scenarios while bad at others.

When it comes to laptops, manufacturers always love to offer discrete graphics as an option. As marketing like this tend to attract a lot more customer, rather than offering a single solution like the Kaby Lake G from Intel. Because Kaby Lake G is still a new idea, something that has not been tested yet. So it’s unlikely to see customers change their mind in such a short time. Aside from that a Max Q GTX 1050 Ti might also be a better option than what Kaby Lake G might offer in terms of performance.
