Nintendo Switch is probably the most loved gaming console for gamers of all ages despite the fact that it’s only 10 months old. Though it cannot be compared to the purpose-built gaming PCs, still it is ahead of its competitor consoles and predecessors. Speaking of the Nintendo Wii U, we didn’t see such an amazing response that has been the case for Nintendo Switch.
The Revenue Figures
Comparing the sales and profit figures of both the console generations, Switch definitely has more operating profit margin than that of Wii U’s total sales. Speaking of the figures, a total of 14.86 million Switch consoles have been sold in the first 10 months of its lifespan. Surprisingly, out of these 14.86 million units, 7.23 million came in the last three months of 2017. Now if you compare these figures to the sales of Nintendo Wii U, you’ll be shocked as the total units sold for this console, weren’t more than 13.56 million.
Nintendo Enjoying a Profitable Quarter
This concludes a much better quarter for Nintendo as the company hasn’t been up to this mark since 2009 as this counts up to 261 percent year-over-year increase. Nintendo’s operating profit was increased by 32.26 billion yen from just last year as the company sits at a 116.50-billion-yen profit (approximately £755m/$1.07 billion).
