There’s new user interface introduced which can be used for both Xbox One X and Xbox One S. Recently a new wave of Xbox One insiders and you may know what Xbox Insider is. Xbox Insider is a program where you get to test all the new features, actually a better tester for the operating system.
Every single time Microsoft introduces new features and updates they need to test it. So, they also testing this stuff on your consoles if you are an Xbox One insiders which has it’s own pros and cons because you get to try all those nice features earlier. That also brings some hazards because such an update may break your system.
Some of the Insiders have already been receiving an interesting kind of sneak peak of the new user interface for both Xbox One S and Xbox One X. Xbox One S and Xbox One X will be using the very same operating system and the actual user interface will look identical and that’s what confirmed by Microsoft. But it’s not going to be the same user interface that Xbox is using now, it’s going to be different. We are getting a sneak peak of how it’s going to look like.
This is a screenshot of set up portion of the new user interface. When you get a brand new console you need to set it up with network language, location update. And this is one of the first kind of setup screens you will have to go through. It’s not actually showing you the actual interface but it gives you a glimpse of how it’s going to look like.
Once you press A then you are being presented with a set up screen and this is where you will set up your language, date, time, location, account and all other things. Apparently this user interface is going to be bit different, still based on Windows 10 so, nothing new here. There’s no mention of new features.
This is something we do have, console running Forza Horizon 3 and the things on the left is basically the part of the dashboard where you can actually access some of the stuff conveniently. So, when you play and press the Xbox button this is what is actually being rolled out in front of you and you can access all those settings. So, this is a main menu but that gives you a glimpse of how the actual menu may look like, because it’s going to be similar.
Also Mike Ybarra has answered and that was a while ago he confirmed that Xbox One and Xbox One X and Xbox One S will be using the same operating system and user interface.
They’ll be the same, but different from what you see today. 😉
