Mushkin recently came up with the Triactor 3DX and 3DL SATA SSDs and now, they have come up with another reasonable offer, the Mushkin Helix-L SSD. In the same release, the company has teased the slightly faster Pilot M.2 NVMe drive which will obviously, a bit expensive as compared to the standard version.

Speaking of this particular SSD, here’s a brief set of its specifications:

  • Based on the M.2-2280 form-factor
  • Combined with a Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller
  • Comes with 3D TLC NAND flash memory
  • Capacity ranges between 120 GB and 1 TB
  • Up to 2400 MB/s sequential reads
  • Up to 1700 MB/s sequential writes
  • Up to 280,000 IOPS 4K random reads
  • Up to 250,000 IOPS maximum writes

The Pilot

The slightly faster variant of the drive is the Pilot which comes with the following set of features:

  • Silicon Motion SM2262 controller
  • 3D TLC NAND flash over 8 channels
  • Embedded with a DRAM cache
  • Up to 3200 MB/s sequential reads
  • Up to 1900 MB/s sequential writes
  • 4K random access performance figures of 370,000/300,000 IOPS (reads/writes)

You can find this drive with capacities ranging between 240 GB and 2 TB. We can’t tell you the prices at the moment but both the drives are said to be rolling out with a 3-year warranty and will be supporting the latest NVMe 1.3 specification.
