AMD now has something to rejoice as two of the most seasoned leaders from the graphics industry, Mike Rayfield and David Wang have joined the American based tech giant. Mike Rayfield has been appointed as Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD Radeon Technologies Group (RTG). While the vacant position of AMD’s Senior Vice President of engineering for RTG has been occupied by David Wang.
Both the appointments have been made by the consent of AMD’s President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su. Both the professionals will be handling vast areas of development including strategy building and business management for AMD’s graphics business. Here’s a note by CEO Dr. Lisa Su regarding the appointment:
Mike and David are industry leaders who bring proven track records of delivering profitable business growth and leadership product roadmaps. We enter 2018 with incredible momentum for our graphics business based on the full set of GPU products we introduced last year for the consumer, professional, and machine learning markets. Under Mike and David’s leadership, I am confident we will continue to grow the footprint of Radeon across the gaming, immersive, and GPU compute markets.
The portfolios of both the professionals are decorated with years of experience. Mr. Rayfield holds more than 30 years of technology industry experience focused on growth, building deep customer relationships, and driving results. You might get an idea from his picture that he has been working for Micron in the past where he was working as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Business Unit.
Mr. Wang is also a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in silicon technology. He holds vast technical expertise which will help AMD in managing complex silicon development.
AMD is aiming at getting the most out of the experience of these professionals which will be visible in the upcoming days.
