Microsoft is constantly working to expand the capabilities of its AI assistance ‘Cortana’. According to The Verge report, the Siri competitor has learned a new trick. The new feature will remind you what you have promised to your friends, family or any work-related commitment.
For example, If you have given your supervisor in an e-mail that you will deliver a presentation by next week, Cortana will remind you later. This is then done by a simple notification on your screen.
The reminder will pops up telling you “don’t forget you mentioned this.”
Cortana will only provide the AI assistance for the available data. So if you do not have access to your e-mails, it will not be able to remind you anything. At the start, the feature will be available only in the US, compatible on Windows 10 PCs, Outlook and Office 365 account. To allow the reminder on Office 365 or Outlook.com, you need to connect your account with Cortana to enable the feature. Once it detects your promises and commitments you will receive the reminders notifications.
