Few days ago we have reported on couple of interesting comments that Michael Pachter a well known analyst actually made about PlayStation 5. He also was talking about Xbox One and couple of other things. But we are going to be focusing on the PlayStation 5 side of things in this article.
An article on Gamingbolt that was talking about Michael Pachter comment and in this article we’ve got a direct quote from him where he was talking about PlayStation 5 and this is what he actually had to say:
“I really like Shawn and I don’t think he is attempting to mislead anybody. The PlayStation 4 Pro is better [from a technical perspective] than the PS4, so I think that’s a half step towards the PlayStation 5. I think the PS5 will be another half step. So he is being honest when he said he is not doing a half step but the PlayStation 5…how much faster can it be? It will surely support 4K. Will it support 240 frames per second? Great. Will it play games that were made for the PlayStation 4 PRO? That’s the question. I think it will. So I think they will build a console that will backwards compatible with the PS4 Pro. So I think it will be perceived by the consumers to be a half step and I think Shawn is telling the truth when he says it’s will be a full fledged console.”
Basically he’s talking about all kinds of PlayStation 5 things, he is throwing some questions because he’s referring to the fact that he thinks that PlayStation 5 will be another half step console. Even though, Sony calls it a next-generation console.
Michael Pachter believes it’s still going to be just another half step from PlayStation 4 Pro. Basically another iteration of the console. And then he’s talking about PlayStation 5 capabilities and he started with a statement, it will surely support 4k because PS4 Pro does it, Xbox One X does it even more with 4k games. Surely more powerful PS5 because there’s no doubt in anybody’s mind that PS5 will be more powerful than Xbox One X.
He throws a question “Will it support 240 FPS?” he said “Great” but that doesn’t confirm anything that the games will run in 240 FPS.
