LG adds mic and speakers to its face masks

The COVID-19 crisis has brought some prominent changes in our lives and has completely modified our lifestyle. Some of the changes like working remotely, sanitising everything and wearing a mask emerged as the new normal. All of us found it a little difficult to adjust with new new rules, wearing a face mask being one of the problems.

The Face mask has become not only a necessity but also an accessory and has come out to be an effective solution to stop the spread of the virus. Keeping aside its effectiveness, the face mask felt uncomfortable when worn for a prolonged period of time. They restrict the airflow, cause sweat, and even fog up the glasses. LG, while maintaining the purpose of face masks to purify the air and serve as a shield, also worked upon making them less problematic for the people.

Last year, LG introduced its very advanced face mask known as the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier that consisted of three fans and a pair of HEPA-style filters. The company has now made some improvements to it. The company will launch the face mask with the updated features in Thailand next month. Let’s see what LG has in store for us.

LG’s new PuriCare Wearable is all-arounder when it comes to performance. The new version of the face mask features a smaller, lighter, and more efficient motor. However, there are no modifications in the dual fans. The new face mask supports the same fans as the old version. The dual fans control the air flow automatically by sensing the user’s breathing patterns. It is said to make breathing easier and more natural.

LG’s new PuriCare Wearable weighs only 94 grams and therefore could be worn throughout the day comfortably. LG has also bumped up the battery from 820mAh to 1,000 mAh. But the running time is the same as before, that is, 8 hours. The company claims that the battery can be charged in 2 hours using the Easy Charge USB Cable.

The face mask has been designed keeping in the purpose it serves and the comfort of the people. It is sleek and sticks to the face, around the nose and chin to create a tight seal which is also comfortable.

The most amazing feature of LG’s new PuriCare Wearable face mask is the built-in microphone and the speaker. The VoiceON technology works effectively and helps your voice reach clearly to the listener. The VoiceON technology strengthens your voice through the built-in speaker and delivers your sound loud and clear. So you will no longer have to pull down your face mask or raise your voice to talk and also the listeners will no longer have to strain or lean in to hear you.

The all new advanced face masks with built-in microphone and speaker will be available in Thailand from next month. The company will roll it out to other regions soon, once it is granted approval by the regulators. The Thai Olympics team was seen wearing these face masks recently.

LG is not the only company to incorporate the sound amplifying technology in its face masks. Various other brands like Razer offer a similar setup including LED lighting in its Hazel masks. LG does not claim if the masks actually provide protection towards coronavirus. All we know is that face masks shield us from the virus upto some extent and it is important to wear one. The LG Puricare Wearable has all the advanced features which makes wearing masks a happy, comfortable experience.
