Every imaged getting your hands on a fast food based smartphone? Well apparently it’s a thing now, where both KFC and Huawei have teamed up to come up with something interesting. This new Huawei smartphone from both the companies is now known as the Huawei Y7.
In terms of specs the Huawei Y7 comes equipped with a 5 inch display. That supports a resolution of 1280 x 720. There is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 running under the hood. Which is coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of on board storage. Though the smartphone only sports a single rear 13 MP camera.
This new smartphone will only be available in China. As something as bizarre as a KFC smartphone can only happen in China. Huawei and KFC will only be making 5000 units of their Huawei Y7 smartphone. Where users can either get it from the KFC app. Or they can simply purchase it from Tmall store instead. While the smartphone will cost you with a price tag of just $161.
KFC is also adding extra benefits with their new smartphone. Where users who own the Huawei Y7 can listen to a listed of curated music when inside a KFC fast food restaurant. Which can be made available with the K-music section, inside the KFC app. It’s not the first time we have seen a theme based smartphone. So why is KFC and Huawei only limiting it to China only? Well the reason behind it is that both KFC and Huawei started their business in the same year. Which was thirty years from now starting in 1987.
Something like this might actually work better in Japan. As KFC is one of the most well received brands in Japan. Even so that people over at Japan enjoy KFC as their Christmas tradition. Though for now the smartphone is only reserved to be sold in China.
