The Nintendo Switch fanbase was glued to the Nintendo’s official forums, waiting for a special news to come regarding Nintendo’s Virtual Console storefront. Unfortunately, it isn’t coming to the Switch after all.
Switch Virtual Console Service
The service sells classic NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, DS and Game Boy Advance titles which itself is a great temptation for the gamers of all the platforms. The confirmation was released in a statement to Kotaku where Nintendo confirmed that it has no plans to launch the traditional VC “banner” on the Switch:
There are currently no plans to bring classic games together under the Virtual Console banner as has been done on other Nintendo systems.
While the news is disappointing for the Switch owners, the Nintendo management is an equally losing a fair share of its potential revenue by not jumping into the Switch gaming business. However, Nintendo is running a parallel gaming business for which, gamers are spending $5 a pop for NES classics and $8 for SNES games.
