Apple have always updated the design on all its devices. But same can’t be said about the decade old MacBook Air. The only updates that the Macbook Air received were minor processor upgrades. Still it’s the only offering from Apple that lags far behind what Apple currently have to offer. Apple also quietly killed its 11 inch Macbook Air back in 2016 and now it might finally be time to say farewell to the 13 inch Macbook Air.
According to Digitimes, Apple might be working on a new Macbook that will be replacing the current 13 inch Macbook Air laptop. Digitimes also reports, that a manufacturer by the name General Interface Solution has already started shipping 13 inch panels to Apple. Which is expected to be used on the new Macbook from Apple, to be released at the end of this year. This new Macbook from Apple will also be replacing the 12 inch Macbook launched last year.
The reason why the 13 inch Macbook Air is so popular is because of its pricing. Which would set you back $999 for the base model. This also makes the 13 inch Macbook Air $300 cheaper than the Macbook. Something that you won’t find anywhere else on the market.
A new cheaper Macbook with a Retina HD display does make sense. Which is likely to happen sooner than later, though the thin and light design of the 13 inch Macbook Air would surely be missed. Which not only amazed everyone, but also gave rise to an entire lineup of ultrabook laptops. That were a thin and light solution from Intel.
Whatever the case maybe I still would personally prefer the current 13 inch Macbook Air design with a Retina HD display. Because the display is the only outdated thing about the laptop in my opinion. Let us known what you think about the 13 inch Macbook Air from Apple?
