A 1080p gaming performance from the Intel/Radeon chip!

The collaborative chip was brought to our attention at the recent CES event where the details were shared regarding the specific specs for all five G-series processors. For now, we’ll discuss the performance of the top end Core i7-8809G processor.

Specifications

Speaking of the specifications of the Core i7-8809G processor, we have:

  • 4 cores and 8 threads model
  • 3.1GHz base and 4.2GHz boost clock speeds
  • The RX Vega M GH GPU has 24 CUs and 1536 Stream Processors
  • 96 TUs, 64 ROPs, and 4GB of HBM2 on board

The system also has 16GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133MHz. Powered by a Samsung 960 Pro 1TB M.2 SSD, the system is capable of delivering 1080p resolution.

Gaming Performance

For ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’, an average frame rate of 52.59fps was achieved at ultra settings. For ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’, the PC achieved 34fps at ultra settings, while in ‘Rainbow Six Siege’ it managed an average of 96fps and in PUBG it scored 65 frames per second.

These impressive scores lead us to believe that the G-series processors can deliver a highly recommended performance on ultra settings!
