The world’s biggest competitors from the outside have a collaborative thinking of working together for the betterment of both businesses. There was a news in the past suggesting AMD and Intel might be working together on a project but now, the rumors have started to get a definite shape. It is being said that Intel is working on a new CPU with Vega GPU technology inside.
“Vega Inside, Mobile Performance Outside”
These are not the words of a normal user, rather they come from the slides shared by Intel and what’s the big deal in believing it? We see many of the big names working together just to flourish their businesses. However, there is an interesting part of this simple looking partnership. Vega is the architecture that AMD just started a few months ago and has implemented in two of its star cards, RX Vega 64 and RX Veg 56. The manufacturing company now seems to be winding up its 14nm process node technology and is moving towards a more compact and efficient solution i.e. 7nm technology. This leads us to believe that the Vega mobile graphics architecture can come handy for Intel and can receive a good farewell from the company.
When To Expect?
Although Intel’s Coffee Lake family of processors still uses the GPU technology used in Kaby Lake, the upcoming mobile-aimed Coffee Lake-H processors are potentially going to have Vega inside. Not only this, Intel’s leaked roadmap for the year 2018 shows that the upcoming Cannon Lake will also be based on Vega.
