It seems like AMD is currently facing a deficit of its core leadership as after Raja Koduri’s departure, Chris Hook has also left the company to join Intel. Hook was working as the former Radeon marketing boss.
Chris Hook will now head the marketing team for visual technologies and dGFX (think graphics cards) at Intel. So Intel has now officially hired a graphics card marketer who will be designing a strategy for them to use to fight AMD and NVIDIA in the graphics card market in the coming years.
Intel’s Build Up
Intel has been very keen on acquiring the ex-AMD talent which helped the company grow in the past year when record sales were achieved by the Intel competitor. The AMD dream team will be focusing on Intel and Nvidia’s CPU and GPU divisions respectively. One of the reasons why Intel is back on the track leaving AMD behind is that despite their slow production, they have strengthened their marketing team with high-level executives!
