Intel Core i9 CPU’s Prices Listed Online : 7800X, 7820X, 7900X and 7920X

Intel core i9

There’s a lot of Intel information on the internet recently, their prices has been leaked for their Core i9 CPU’s. Let’s just say that Intel is being Intel here, again this is just leaks. The leaks came from an online retailer so there is some staying part to this. We’ll not be going into the details of the CPU because we’ve covered that already.

There are some key things to note though, their base clock is fairly low and it is to be expected because of the high core counts when turbo boost is turned on all would be well above the 4.0 ghz range, all will support quad-channel memory.

Let’s start with the 6 Core i9 7800X, this is the entry level high-end desktop CPU and it’s price is $439, next one is the 8 Core 7820X which price start at $649 and this replaces the core i7 6900k even at a big price drop from the $1000 6900k is still well above the Ryzen 7 1800X price of $489.

Next one is the 7900X at $1099, this is quite interesting because the core i7 6950X as you know is priced at $1600-$1700 depending on where you look. So, it’s close to a $600 price drop with the new pricing here for the 7900X.

Then we have the last core i9 the 7920X, this is the 12 core 23rd CPU. This one will take the price position of the i7 6950X at $1650.

I think we all knew Intel wasn’t going to match AMD’s approach to pricing here. It just now comes down to AMD’s Threadripper pricing and how well it stakes versus the Intel Core i9 series.

Hate it or love it but with Intel you are getting a very stable platform with ton of memory support, you also get a great performance. Just recently AMD is talking about sending out micro codes and updating it’s AGESA platform to enable AM4 board to support faster memory.

Now the reality here is that; large segments of customers that will pay a higher price for a known platform with all the kinks worked out, in other words they want stability and Intel gives them that stability. Intel knows this and because of this you can see it in their pricing strategy.
