Intel announced XMM 7560 modem for next-generation LTE-Advanced devices.
Qualcomm revealed the Snapdragon X20 LTE Modem on last Tuesday. Qualcomm 10nm LPE process LTE Modem supports a download speed up to 1.2 Gbit /s. Catching up with Qualcomm, Intel announced the release of a new cellular modem XMM 7560. Intel’s new modem support download speeds up to 1 Gbps/s and upload speeds up to 225 Mbps/s.
Intel XMM 7560 is Intel’s first Gigabit Modem, which supports Gigabit network LTE Advanced Pro (4.5G). It’s also Intel’s first modem to be built on the firm’s 14nm manufacturing processor.
Snapdragon X16 LTE Vs Intel XMM 7560
The 2016 Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X16 LTE Modem is slightly different from Intel XMM 7560, with download speeds up to 1Gbps (LTE Category 16), while uploading up to 225Mbps (LTE Cat. 13), higher than Snapdragon X16 LTE Modem 150Mbps.
In the download section, Intel XMM 7560 LTE Modem supports 5 x 20MHz carrier aggregation, 4 × 4 MIMO and 256-QAM; upload section of the 3 × 20MHz carrier aggregation support.
the firm explains: “The Intel SMARTi 7 transceiver’s design and advanced interference mitigation techniques delivers significant data connectivity, signal quality and performance for a better mobile experience.”
In addition, Intel’s Gigabit LTE Modem supports 35 groups of LTE Bands (with Intel SMARTi 7 transceivers) and Licensed-Assisted Access (LAA).
Intel XMM 7560 Modem Features
- Supports 3GPP Rel-13
