Social accounts app Instagram in once again in the highlights of hacking. Some of Russian hackers claim that they stole the personal information of the users from their Instagram accounts. Hackers claim that the email addresses and phone numbers of the users will reveal online.
According to the report, when hackers share the photos of singer Selena Gomez’s account, the hacking activity reported by the hackers. While on that, many other researchers highlights the hacking, data of the other famous celebrities like Emma Watson, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles online.
Moreover, the hackers create their own dark database that allows anyone to get access over the information of the hacked accounts by paying $10 per search. Initially on the reporting of hacking accounts, Instagram officials says its just a “low percentage” of accounts that are unfortunately hacked.
But after that, hackers claimed that they have access over six million Instagram accounts and threatening to leak the information of compromised accounts. Hackers claims that they are Russian and named themselves “Doxagram, not enough for them, they advertise properly as “it is only $10 (price of 2 cups of coffee) for celebrity contact info”. Facebook is trying to get access over the domain of the hackers website and take some actions against hackers. Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger said:
We quickly fixed the bug, and have been working with law enforcement on the matter.
Furthermore, hackers claims that they have access over the US president Instagram account run by the social media team at the White House and other celebrities accounts. In a report, RepKnight analyst Patrick Martin says as:
“While Instagram has now fixed the bug that lead to the leak, the cat is out of the bag now, and those affected will have to take extra care to maintain their privacy”.
