The game surfaced during Microsoft’s press briefing. The game as expected was fantastic, because 4A Games previous games Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light which are still amongst the most visually stunning first-person shooters on PC. It is also confirmed to be on Xbox One X enhanced list.
Was the gameplay footage really running on an Xbox One X?
This question remains on everyone’s mind, and It was answered later by 4A Games in an interview conducted during E3 2017 that the gameplay footage of Metro Exodus was captured on a PC equivalent to the Xbox One X in terms of specifications.
What the companies take on the game?
Jonathan Bloch Executive Producer 4A Games praised the hardware of Microsoft’s Xbox One X (which is due on November 7th) and explained how that footage was created by the developers, while speaking with the Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) UK in the October 2017
The power of the Xbox One X will allow to ensure the game looks amazing. The trailer was recorded in-engine from a gameplay sequence players will find later on in the game. We removed things like HUD, and Quick Time Events prompts, choreographed the play through and music to fit the needs of the trailer, but the game looks like what you see
But still to know for certain that Xbox One X will deliver such awesome visuals, we will have to wait till next year when Metro Exodus will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
One more thing to consider, this third installment is set to introduce much larger playable areas as well as “massive replayability” with players’ decisions “having significant consequences for the story”, according to 4A Games.
