From Coffee Lake to Skylake series Intel pulled out every card to compete with overdecorated market of this year but this year is near to an end and Intel has already planned for upcoming 2018. Ice Lake is on its way to completion featuring 10nm of mainstream architecture which will be first ever 8-core Intel processors with 10nm Ice Lake silicons.
Unlike AMD’s Intel has no plans to put and end to 10nm instead they are waving goodbye to Z370 chipset and will fully relies on the Z390-PCH. While AMD planned to jump into 7nm from 14nm skipping 10nm in between.
Intel Z390 to support 8C/16T CPU
Not much is known at this point about the architecture itself, but the 8-core Intel processors might be the first 10nm Ice Lake silicons. The Z390 is likely to arrive after the full stack of 300-series chipsets (such as B360/H370) will be revealed early next year.
Notebook manufacturer Eurocom provides one of the key information by one of their post. Here it is:
The CPU family is to be directly based on the second edition of the 10nm production, the childhood diseases of the first generation are eliminated, there is also more power respectively a lower power consumption. In the second half of 2018 the first products are expected.
