HTC recently demoed a new phone during a 5G event. That came equipped with Qualcomm’s new X20 LTE modem, supporting download speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps. But aside from that not a lot was known about this mystery phone, besides its name. As the phone was expected to be the next flagship device known as HTC U12.
Well now with the help of a Russian journalist we finally got some more details regarding the specification of the next flagship device from HTC. The HTC U12 is expected to come equipped with a 6 inch display. That will support a resolution of Quad HD on an 18:9 panel. Aside from that the HTC U12 is also expected to come with a Super LCD display instead of AMOLED.
Other specs on the upcoming HTC U12 includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC. That will be coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of on board storage. Where everything will be powered by a 3420 mAh battery. The HTC U12 is also expected to come equipped with a dual camera setup this time around. That will sport a combination of 12MP+16MP sensor at the back. The HTC U12 will also feature IP68 certification and will be available in both single and dual SIM variants.
In terms of design HTC might use the same glass metal design over from their current flagship phone the HTC U11 Plus. Where the phone will be running Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box on HTC Edge Sense 2.0 UI. Aside from that the upcoming HTC U12 is also expected to be sold somewhere around $880 in April.
With the current sales HTC is not really doing well in the smartphone business. Though things might change for the better, after HTC also moves in with the crowd. Bringing the new display trend to their phones as well.
